African Bluegrass ~ 5ml
- Source: South Africa Production method: Steam distilled from wild grass leaves Botanical name: Cymbopogon validus When my sample of this amazing oil first arrived, I immediately asked the spirit of the oil for guidance on how to use it. Outside of South Africa, there is very little knowledge of this oil and its medicinal properties. This wild grass is in the same family as Palmarosa, Gingergrass, Lemongrass, and Citronella. It’s aroma is more complex and rich than any of the others in its family. Aromatically, it is in a world of its own. Known medicinal properties include anti fungal, antiviral, and astringent properties. In South Africa, it has also been used as a pain reliever. One evening, after a long day of hard work on the construction of our house, I felt the spirit of African Bluegrass trying to get my attention! I checked in and found that it was advising me to put undiluted African Bluegrass on my spine and shoulders, and anywhere there was muscle soreness or stiffness. I followed the spirit’s advise. Within moments, I was falling deep into a dreamless sleep. I could not believe how relaxing this oil is! And it completely eased my sore muscles, allowing me to get a full night’s sleep and awaken refreshed and ready to go again! My body honestly felt as though I had never worked at all by the next morning. Through experience with this oil, I have also found it to be great for constipation. By massaging it into the lower abdomen, it encourages the bowels to move, and opens circulation through the digestive system.
